Healthy Working Lives Bronze Award
Cornerstone has recently successfully achieved Bronze Award as part of the Healthy Working Lives (HWL) initiative, supported by the Scottish Government. This prestigious award recognises our long term commitment to helping improve the health and wellbeing of our staff and the people we support. 


 SQA Star Award for Lifelong Learning 2009
Our SQA Approved Centre has been awarded a SQA Star Award for Lifelong Learning in recognition of their ability to support staff by delivering real and sustained learning for learners of all ages. We have been a SQA approved centre since 1995 and we  offer staff training for SVQ qualifications such as Children and Young People, Health and Social Care, and Leadership and Management in Care.


Best Social Service Team in Scotland 2009
Our Forensic Service in Aberdeen has won the Best Social Service Team in Scotland at the Scottish Social Services Council Care Accolades Award Ceremony in Dundee. Recognised for the team's structured approach and emphasis on inclusion, our Forensic Service provides support to adults with learning disabilities and mental health issues who have a history of offending, or are at risk of offending without appropriate levels of support. The project aims to protect the community and prevent the individuals from reoffending by introducing structured support, employment opportunities and activities which brings stability to their lives.


Investors in People
As the first voluntary sector care organisation to achieve Investor in People (IiP) status, we recognise that continuous development of our staff is paramount to the quality of our services and that is why we have retained our IiP status since 1995. We use the IiP Framework to develop our approach to learning and development and are delighted to be recognised as an accredited Investor in People organisation.


Positive About Disabled People
Cornerstone is proud to be awarded the ‘two ticks'. The symbol is a recognition given by Jobcentre Plus to employers who have agreed to make certain positive commitments regarding the employment, retention, training and career development of disabled people.


Committed to Excellence
Cornerstone received the ‘Committed to Excellence' Award in October 2008. Developed by the European Foundation of Quality Management, the Award is part of a Europe-wide recognition scheme for organisations committed to continuous improvement and the pursuit of Excellence.


Scottish Qualification Authority Approved Centre
Cornerstone has been a Scottish Qualification Authority (SQA) approved centre since 1995. Recognised as "providing excellent support and guidance to candidates", we are accredited to deliver SVQs in:

  • Health and Social Care (Adults) Levels 2, 3 & 4
  • Management Levels 3 & 4
  • Leadership and Management in Care Level 4
  • A1 (Assessor Qualification)
  • V1 (Verifier Qualification) 

In control
Cornerstone was one of the first organisations to become a member of In control Scotland. This partnership of charities, care providers, government agencies and individuals aims to help people gain control over the way they receive their support  through the use of personal budgets and self-directed support.


Scottish Social Enterprise Coalition
Cornerstone is a member of the Scottish Social Enterprise Coalition, the national collective lobbying and campaigns voice for social enterprise in Scotland.


FundRaising Standards Board
Cornerstone is a member of the FundRaising Standards Board, a not for profit organisation that runs the self-regulatory scheme for fundraising in the UK. They encourage high standards and a transparency to increase public confidence in charitable giving and Cornerstone's membership signals our commitment to being "open, fair, honest and legal" in our fundraising activity.


Partnership Fundraising Award 2007
Cornerstone is delighted to have won the Partnership Fundraising Award from the Institute of Fundraising in 2007 in conjunction with Petrofac.
