Cornerstone’s new strategic plan for 2021-25 'Future-proofing Cornerstone' was recently launched in August 2021. The new, four year strategy is pragmatic and realistic; focussing on what we do best, making sure the people we support are able to live the best life possible.

We now have a refined and refreshed vision:

“To be the first choice for expert care and support for people with learning disabilities, autism and complex care needs in Scotland”

We have also altered our values slightly to better reflect our commitment to person-centred care and the people we support being at the heart of everything we do. Our values are:

Caring

Person-centred

Professional

Pioneering

We have three new strategic aims:

To be an expert provider of services to people with learning disabilities, autism and complex care needs.

To be the best employer in social care in Scotland.

To achieve stability and sustainability which support future developments.

These aims will all be supported by a number of programmes of work which have the people we support and their families at the heart.

‘Future-proofing Cornerstone’ follows on from a significant review of the previous strategy ‘Local Cornerstone’. It takes forward the learning and achievements from that strategy but also leaves behind the parts that haven’t worked quite so well.

The new strategy focusses on what we are best at and makes plans to get even better at it, to allow us to continue to provide the very best care and support that makes such a positive difference to people’s lives.

It’s time to look to the future to be the very best we can be.
