Peter Nicholson (Chair)
Peter recently retired as Group Head of Human Resources for global energy services company John Wood Group PLC, a position he has held since joining the company in 2002, and succeeded Elaine Thomson as Cornerstone Chair at the 2012 AGM.
Peter chairs Cornerstone’s Staffing Committee and serves on the Board of Governors of Robert Gordon University.
Malcolm Laing (Depute Chair)
Malcolm is a Partner and Head of the Corporate Division at Ledingham Chalmers LLP, one of Scotland's leading law firms. He also chairs Cornerstone's Business Development Committee.
Jim is Senior Corporate Manager with Lloyds TSB Scotland plc and chair's Cornerstone's Finance Committee.
Helen retired seven years ago from her post as Director of Community Services in Stirling Council. Staying on in Stirling, since then she has been involved with a range of voluntary organisations. Helen has a particular interest in adult support and protection and is presently the independent Chair of the Adult Support and Protection Committee, Forth Valley, which has members from NHS, Forth Valley, Central Scotland Police, Care Inspectorate and local voluntary organisations.
David is Membership Manager for Dundee and Angus Chamber of Commerce. In addition to actively supporting his community through the Rotary and Athletic clubs, David is also a Trustee for Signpost International.
Craig joined then board in 2012, having previously been involved with Glasgow charities assisting them to become financially sound. Craig is presently the Manager of a Property Team within The Bank of Scotland.
Dr Christopher John Scott
Dr Scott is a retired hospital consultant. He is currently Chairman of Crossroads Caring Scotland.
Currently a SAP HE Specialist with Absoft, Elaine joined the Cornerstone Board after leaving the Scottish Parliament where she was MSP for Aberdeen North from 1999 - 2003. Elaine has seen the charity through the challenging economic climate when she served as Chair from 2005 and handing over to her successor Peter at the 2012 AGM. Elaine continues to support Cornerstone as a Board member.
