Cornerstone’s ‘5 Days To Make A Difference’ campaign is running form the 22 – 26 April and we are urging anyone wishing to donate to the cause to text PORT12 £1 to 70070.
It will form part of the ‘Home Is Where The Heart Is’ appeal, which aims to raise enough money, with additional funding from the Scottish Government, to build six flats which will allow six people with disabilities from the local area to enjoy a home of their own.
With the support of Aberdeenshire Council, the land for the flats has been secured, the work has begun and the focus is now on raising the remainder of the funds to complete the project. The ‘5 Days To Make A Difference’ campaign is asking the public to donate a minimum of just £1 via text message to help reach the overall target of £300,000.
Situated in Portlethen, each flat will use the latest technology to allow the people who live there to be supported by Cornerstone staff and feel safe while maintaining a good level of independence. The properties will also be equipped to deal with residents' changing needs.
