"For three years I’ve been supported by Cornerstone. During this time, I’ve become involved in a range of activities; I’m a drummer in the Connects band where we regularly play gigs and I’m also involved in the Connects Media Group and help make films (sometimes I even star in them!). I’ve also helped to grow and develop a beautiful garden and outdoor space at Summerlee Heritage Site. Our garden has a bird feeding area, flower beds and we’re currently working on building a path so that the space is wheelchair friendly. We also hold summer garden parties that are a great way to bring everyone together. I enjoy attending events and parties put on by Cornerstone and I also like to contribute where possible.
"I love the flexibility I get from Cornerstone. Using self-directed support helps me to pick and choose the care I want.
"When I’m not at Connects, I play football for Scotland’s national cerebral palsy football team and like to get involved in fundraising events alongside Cornerstone staff and volunteers."
