Annual Dinner raises over £49,000 for people with disabilities

Scottish provider of social care, Cornerstone, raised over £49,000 (net) at their annual fundraising dinner last weekend (28 April).  The event, sponsored by BP, Optima and Technip UK Ltd, at The Marcliffe in Aberdeen was a huge success and raised much needed funds to enable children and adults with disabilities and other support needs to enjoy a valued life.
Guests from Aberdeen's business community were welcomed by the Chief Executive of Cornerstone, Edel Harris and enjoyed speech by guest speaker John McElvie.
Footballer, Ian Thian, entertained the room as auctioneer, with guests snapping up a number of interesting lots including a week at a luxury three bedrooomed apartment in beautiful Austria, a family ticket for a Manchester United game and a luxury two night stay at The Witchery by the Castle in Edinburgh.

Cornerstone's Chief Executive, Edel Harris, commented "Our dinner this year has been a great success and I am delighted that the event raised such a remarkable amount of money through the generosity of our guests given the current economic climate. Every penny raised really will make a difference to the people we support and I'd like to say a special thanks to our sponsors BP, Optima and Technip UK Ltd for making this evening possible".
