Cornerstone’s monthly disco has long been a place for people of all abilities to meet up and have a good time. With music ranging from nostalgic classics to new-age pop, the dance floor is often packed from the first song. Our disco is one of the most popular activities for adults with disabilities across the north east of Scotland and is a real social highlight for many. It’s open to all and there’s no better place to meet new friends or catch up with family. This monthly event is a celebration of diversity and is attended by people of all abilities and age groups.
There aren’t enough activities like this in Aberdeen city so we’re thrilled to announce that the disco’s dates for 2018 have been secured thanks to the generosity of Apache. On top of this, some colleagues from Apache have even volunteered to help out at the Christmas disco at the end of November. Cornerstone can’t wait to show these volunteers the biggest party in town and see the real effect of their generous sponsorship.
This monthly Disco is just one of the services offered through Cornerstone Connects. Our Connects services provide therapeutic and stimulating activities for people with dementia, disabilities and other complex support needs, enabling them to learn new things, develop their social skills and become involved with the local community.
