Baker Hughes 10k call for runners

Cornerstone, is urging people to lace up their running shoes and sign up for the 2013 Baker Hughes 10k to help raise money for our latest campaign for a social housing development in Portlethen.

Registration is now open for this year's 10k and the event will take place on Sunday, May 19.  The route is based around Aberdeen's beach and harbour area.

Cornerstone is asking runners to raise money for its ‘Run for Home' campaign, which is aiming to raise enough money, with additional funding from the Scottish Government, to build six flats which will enable six people with disabilities from the local area to live more independently.

Each flat will use the latest technology to allow the people who live there to be supported by Cornerstone staff and feel safe while maintaining a good level of independence. The properties will also be equipped to deal with residents' changing needs.

With the support of Aberdeenshire Council, the land for the flats has now been secured and the focus is now on raising the necessary funds to begin building.
