Bryan runs toughest foot race on earth

A local man, Bryan Wilson, is set to run the Marathon Des Sables across the Sahara Desert in Morocco to raise funds for Cornerstone.  Entitled ‘Run for Home' his challenge aims to raise £50, 000 for our new social housing development in Portlethen, Aberdeenshire.

The April event, a 6 day/155 mile endurance race where competitors have to carry their full survival kit with them in temperatures reaching 120°F, will be the ultimate test of discipline and determination for Bryan.

Bryan, aged 46, is an employee at Maersk Oil and comments "I have never been one to shy away from challenges and truly excited to be taking part in the Marathon Des Sables 2012. I have waited several years to get a place in what some say is ‘the toughest foot race on earth' and I am delighted that my challenge will also help raise funds for local people.   My family have been very supportive but look forward already to my safe return."

Cornerstone's new social housing development will be built in Portlethen, Aberdeenshire in 2012 and will provide flats for six people with disabilities. Each flat is to be designed to meet the needs of the new residents and will be equipped with the latest technology to ensure Cornerstone can provide individuals with the highest quality of care while promoting independent living.
