Cornerstone has officially taken over the running of Dunoon-based children’s charity, CLASP, at a special handover ceremony this past Saturday, October 12.
CLASP currently provides holiday support to more than 20 children and young people with a variety of disabilities. Those supported by the charity enjoy a variety of indoor and outdoor activities including horse-riding, swimming and visits to the cinema.
The charity is based at Dunoon Primary School and has a staff of 16, who will transfer to Cornerstone, which is supplemented by a number of volunteers.
During the official handover there was a presentation from representatives from CLASP and Cornerstone’s Regional Director, Hazel Brown.
Hazel said: “Cornerstone is delighted to be able to continue to provide the high level of support to children and their families as a result of CLASP becoming part of our organisation.
“We are grateful to the many years of hard work that have been put into running Clasp up to now by staff, committee members and families and we hope to continue to provide a much needed service to children and young people with disabilities in the Dunoon area.”
