Aberdeenshire Council Leader, Councillor Jim Gifford, presented a Christmas donation of £1,500 to Cornerstone, at our Aberdeen office this week.
Cllr Gifford chose Cornerstone as this year's charity to receive a Christmas donation and specified that the money be go towards our Home Is Where The Heart Is campaign which aims to raise £300,000 to build six flats for people with disabilities in Portlethen.
The cheque was presented by Cllr Gifford to Jayne Findlay, Regional Director for North Scotland, Portlethen Service Manager Moira Beedie, and Fred Robertson a gentleman we support who will be staying in the new Portlethen housing development.
Cllr Gifford said: "I am delighted to be able to support Cornerstone and to recognise the invaluable work done by the charity in supporting people of all ages with disabilities in Aberdeenshire.
"‘Home is Where the Heart Is' is an exciting project for Portlethen which will allow people with disabilities to maintain a good level of independence while still receiving support from Cornerstone.
