Cornerstone Patron, professional golfer Richie Ramsay to hold an online auction in aid of charity

Cornerstone's Patron, European PGA Tour Professional Richie Ramsay, is holding an online silent auction of signed memorabilia to raise funds for the people Cornerstone supports, and charity Help the Heroes.

Bidders can win various golfing goods signed by professionals. Items include a framed glove signed by 2011 US Open Champion Rory McIlroy, a framed Augusta National scorecard signed by three times Masters champion Phil Mickelson and a framed Abu Dhabi HSBC Golf Championship flag signed by three times winner of the Abu Dhabi Golf Championship, Martin Kaymer.

A TaylorMade cap signed by five tournament winners - Paul Casey, Robert Rock, Simon Dyson, Thomas Bjorn and Jamie Donaldson - is also going under the hammer.

The auction will run from September 2 and will be open for two weeks - which ties in with Offshore Europe and The Walker Cup - which Richie played in in 2005.

Richie turned professional in 2007 and since 2009 has been playing on the European Tour.

The 28-year-old is the first Scot to have won the US Amateur Championship in a century and in 2009 he became the South African Open Champion.

He said: "Cornerstone provides a fantastic range of services and support to adults and children with disabilities across Scotland, and Help for Heroes play an essential role in helping those who have been wounded in current conflicts.

"Both are very worthy causes and I am delighted to aid these charities by holding this auction. Some great items are up for grabs and I really hope people dig deep to show their support."

Douglas Craig, managing director of the Craig Group which has sponsored Richie since 2007, said: "For Aberdeen to attract inward investment from two major events within one week - Offshore Europe and the Walker Cup - means thousands of visitors from across the UK and overseas will be in the city. This provides a strong platform to generate much-needed funding for two charities which work tirelessly to help transform people's lives. We wish Richie exceptional fund-raising success."
