As part of the European Year of Volunteering, at 11am on June 11th Aberdeen's voluntary sector will come together to parade down the city's Union Street and Cornerstone will be there to lend their support.
The aim of the parade is to unite and celebrate the diversity of Aberdeen's vibrant third sector as well as raise awareness of the impact of their work amounts the people and businesses in the region. As an organisation, Cornerstone relies on the support of volunteers. In the last year, over 250 volunteers have given up their time to contribute to our work with over 20% of those coming from Aberdeen.
Jodie Dawson, Cornerstone's Communications Manager said "We are delighted to be taking part in 'Celebrate Aberdeen'. The event is a great way to raise awareness of Cornerstone while celebrating the excellent work in Aberdeen's third sector. Our staff and volunteers are very much looking forward to the day and we are encouraging anyone wishing to get involved in our parade to get in touch."
