Grampian Awards for Business Excellence Win

Cornerstone triumphed last night at the prestigious 2013 Grampian Awards for Business Excellence held at Aberdeen’s Ardoe House, by winning the Alick Buchanan-Smith Enterprising Communities Award.

This award recognises organisations which operate for the benefit of their community and can demonstrate that they are rooted in their community and go the extra mile to bring genuine value to their local area through engagement and support.

Edel Harris, Chief Executive of Cornerstone, said: “We are absolutely delighted to have won this award, which recognises the dedication and commitment of our team of staff and volunteers, who work so hard to ensure that the people we support both here in the North-east and across Scotland are enabled to enjoy a valued life.

“Living a valued life is where everyone is accepted in society, has the opportunity to make friends and have a relationship and are given the chance to do meaningful things with their time.

“Our staff and volunteers, through hard work and an innovative approach to care, help to make this a reality for some of the most vulnerable people in our community, helping them to grow in confidence and creating opportunities for them that otherwise might not have been possible.

“This award is testament to the amazing contribution they make to society.”
