Cornerstone last night triumphed in the 10th annual Northern Star Business Awards.
Our Chief Executive Edel Harris, Regional Director, North Scotland Jayne Findlay, and colleagues picked up the Outstanding Contribution to Society Award at the ceremony, which took place at Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre.
It is the third award that Cornerstone has won this year. In June, we received the Alick Buchanan-Smith Enterprising Communities Award category in the Grampian Awards for Business Excellence and in may we were awarded a special Chair’s Award at the 2013 Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) Care Accolades, in recognition of our achievements.
Edel Harris, Chief Executive of Cornerstone, said: “We are absolutely delighted to have won this award, which recognises the dedication and commitment of our team of staff and volunteers, who work so hard to ensure that the people we support both here in the North-east and across Scotland are enabled to enjoy a valued life.
“Living a valued life is where everyone is accepted in society, has the opportunity to make friends and have a relationship and are given the chance to do meaningful things with their time.
“This award is testament to the amazing contribution they make to society.”
Cornerstone provides care and support services for more than 2,000 adults, young people and children across Scotland who live with learning disabilities, physical disabilities, mental health problems and other support needs.
