Staff rewarded for 20 years service

Our dedicated staff at Cornerstone have been recognised for their 20 years of loyal service, for the first time.

The 11 members of staff, who all joined Cornerstone around 1993, were honoured at our AGM and North Region review on Tuesday night. Sponsored by BP, the event was held at Aberdeen’s Marcliffe Hotel and Spa.

A further six staff were also recognised for 10 years of service.

Most of the recipients are based at care homes and assisted accommodation across Aberdeen, Stonehaven, Peterhead, Portlethen and Moray, working directly with the people we support.

Cornerstone provides care and support services to more than 2,000 adults, young people and children across Scotland who live with learning disabilities, physical disabilities, mental health problems and other support needs.

Receiving 20 year awards were:

Patricia Ferguson – based at Granton Place, Aberdeen

Patricia Prest – based at Stevenson Court, Aberdeen

Frances Whyte – based at Abbotswell Drive, Aberdeen

Jacqueline Raeburn – based at Glebefield Terrace, Peterhead

Gwenda Cowling – based at Riverside Drive, Stonehaven

Elaine Duffy – based at Crudenlea, Stonehaven

Moira Beedie – based at Easter Place, Portlethen

Wilma Rourke – based at Parkholme, Lossiemouth

Lorraine McAuslan – based at Roselle, Elgin

Christine Petrie – based at Kyd Drive, Elgin

Anna Flett – based at head office with Cornerstone’s Learning and Development team

Linda Lowe – based at Berrybank, Maud

Susan Munro – based at Berrybank, Maud

Heather Murray – based at Riverside Drive, Stonehaven

Wendy Cooper - Wardend Place, Elgin

Claire Milne – senior finance assistant based at Cornerstone’s Aberdeen headquarters

Chief Executive Edel Harris presented the staff who attended the AGM with certificates to mark their long service.

Edel said: “Our staff are our greatest asset and without them we not be able to provide quality care services and achieve our objective of enabling the people we support to live a valued life. On behalf of them and the rest of the team at Cornerstone, I would like to thank them all for their continued dedication and 10 and 20 years of hard work and loyalty.

“Either working in our head office or directly with the people we support and helping them to live their lives day to day, whether it’s assisting with cooking, outings, activities or just offering general friendship, they have all made a fantastic contribution over the years.”
