Performers from Legally Blonde the Musical, a top London West End show, are getting on their bike for a Scottish charity which supports adults, children and young people with disabilities and other support needs.
The cast of Legally Blonde the Musical are participating in the Cornerstone Cycle Challenge, a 30 day challenge, where teams compete on static bikes to cycle to different locations throughout Europe and North America. The challenge, which raises funds for leading Scottish charity Cornerstone, features a route that includes the destinations of significant events that occurred in 1980 to celebrate the charity's 30th year.
The Legally Blonde cast includes local actress Amy Lennox, a former Aberdeen Grammar School pupil, who will be captaining the show's Cycle Challenge team. The show also stars several famous faces including Sheridan Smith from Two Pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisps as Elle Woods, and Jill Halfpenny, who rose to fame in EastEnders, plays Paulette.
Amy Lennox, who plays Margot, Elle's best friend, said, "The cast and crew are really excited about getting involved. I reckon we will provide some stiff competition to the other teams!"
The bike, which will be kept back stage in the wings, will allow performers and crew cycling between shows and breaks in rehearsal.
Vanessa Smith, Regional Fundraising Coordinator and organiser of the challenge said. "We are delighted that the cast from Legally Blonde are supporting Cornerstone by participating in the Cycle Challenge. It's fantastic to know we have such famous stars pedalling for Cornerstone!
I'd like to say a really big thank you to Evans Cycles for donating the bike, without them this wouldn't have been possible."
