Cornerstone last night triumphed in the Glasgow Business Awards, picking up the Excellence in Skills and Learning accolade.
Cornerstone’s Director of Human Resources and Learning and Development, Mairi Martin, picked up the award at the ceremony, which took place at Glasgow Hilton Hotel.
The event, hosted by Fred MacAulay, was attended by more than 700 members of the Glasgow business community who gathered to celebrate excellence and entrepreneurship.
We beat strong competition to demonstrate a strategic commitment to learning throughout the organisation, recognising the importance of the continual development of staff skills.
Mairi said: “We are absolutely delighted to have won this award, which recognises the dedication and commitment of our team of staff and volunteers to the people we support both here in Glasgow and across Scotland.
“We truly strive to ensure our colleagues, volunteers and placements have a wide range of skills and learning to maximise their potential and ensure the people we support enjoy a valued life. We involve colleagues, volunteers, placements, foster carers, people we support and families in designing our training.
“This award is testament to the amazing contribution our learning and development team make and recognition what a positive impact they have on society but in particular their colleagues, the people we support, volunteers and placements.
