Volunteer service receives cash boost

We were delighted to receive a donation of £2500 from TREND Aberdeen. The funds were raised at TREND's annual Life with Style Awards Ceremony earlier in the year and will go towards helping Cornerstone expand the Volunteer Service in Aberdeen.

At a time when organisations such as Cornerstone face financial challenges, the need for volunteers to support our charitable work in the community is becoming increasingly important. Edel Harris, our Chief Executive commented "We are delighted to receive this cheque from TREND in aid of our Volunteer Service. Our work supporting people with disabilities and other support needs would not be possible without the help of our many volunteers. This donation will go towards a new recruitment campaign which will help us to enable the people we support to enjoy a valued life in our community. My thanks go to everyone at TREND and their generous guests who attended the awards ceremony."

Cornerstone's Volunteer Service offers a wide range of opportunities from spending a couple of hours a week befriending, to helping our business support services and even being involved in makeover projects.

Lynn Batham, Event Co-ordinator from TREND added "Each year we raise funds for a local cause at our awards ceremony. Cornerstone and their team of volunteers do such a great job in and around Aberdeen and we were only to happy to help raise funds for their Volunteer Service. We wish Cornerstone all the best and hope this donation helps them to recruit many more volunteers who will make a difference to people with disabilities."
