Cornerstone's volunteering stall on Saturday 28 July was very popular with visitors at the inaugural Aberdeen Impact Awards which won us the ‘Visitors Favourite' prize. The Awards ACVO (Aberdeen Council of Voluntary Organisations) were created to draw attention to voluntary organisations and award them for their hard work over the year . With several categories to compete for Cornerstone just missed out in claiming the ‘Volunteers Favourite' award.
Setting up a mini sweet shop to emphasise the many voluntary options people can Pick ‘N' Mix from caught the attention of the public quickly and we are grateful for the interest and new volunteers gained during the awards.
‘Having people show an interest in Cornerstone and the people we support was a reward itself, but to then win the ‘Visitors Favourite' made a great day that much sweeter'
Congratulations to all those who were nominated for an Impact award and we hope many more people take an interest in volunteering thanks to ACVO.
