Giving a gift in memory of a loved one is a special way to remember them. You’ll be honouring their life whilst making a real lasting impact to the lives of people living with learning disabilities, autism and complex care needs across Scotland.
If you’ve lost a loved one you might be considering how you wish to commemorate their life. We’ve got some ideas that you might like to consider. From funeral collections to challenge events, we’re here to help you remember your loved one with Cornerstone.
A funeral can be a way to celebrate the life of your loved one. Perhaps you might like to do a collection for Cornerstone at their funeral? You might wish to look at an In Memory page as a lovely way to bring family and friends together, even if they can’t be physically present.
Whether you’re looking to take part in an organised event or do your own thing, we’ve got help on hand to support you celebrate a loved one’s life through a challenge. Read how Eliza and the Smedley family

You can create an In Memory page on our website. An In Memory page provides the opportunity for friends and family to come together to share memories of a loved one and celebrate their life. Anyone who leaves a message on your bespoke page has the option to leave a donation to Cornerstone in memory of someone they love.

“[Cornerstone] never made it feel like a job to our family and were there every day and night without fail. Polly had cerebral palsy and epilepsy which put many restrictions on the life she led, and resulted in many hospital admissions, operations, and often lots of pain. But she was so much more than this. She was strong. And busy. And led a happy and full life.”

Tony, Stephen, Brian and their family completed a Ben Nevis hike in memory of their mum and much-loved wife, Linda Smedley. The Cornerstone team in North Lanarkshire supported Linda and her family after she was diagnosed with early onset dementia aged just 50.

Mum received excellent care for the team at Cornerstone in Stonehaven. They helped support Mums independence at home and outside the home. This included taking mum out for shopping trips and for a cup of coffee and cake. Mum was very independent and this allowed her to enjoy trip out side the home, with great support from the Cornerstone team. We wish to set up a fund in memory of Mum to allow others to enjoy some normality, have a trip to the shops or for a cup of coffee and slice of cake. 13 Jul 1948 - 05 Apr 2022 Read more
