With the help of supporters just like you, Cornerstone have been able to make Lee’s magical Christmas wishes come true! Thanks to a little help from Santa and a terrific fundraising effort, Lee’s care and support team were able to surprise him with a first-time flight to London and a trip to the world-famous Harry Potter Studios, as well as a tour of London Stadium where his beloved West Ham United play.

Please help us to make more Christmas wishes come true for the people we support in your local community with learning disabilities, autism and complex care needs, by giving to our Christmas Wish Appeal this year.

As a football fanatic and one of the world’s biggest Harry Potter fans, Lee was absolutely over the moon! “I was so happy when I received a letter from Santa saying that I was going to London and going to Harry Potter studios. I had a great time!”. You can watch Lee receiving his surprise below.

Lee, who has Fragile X and is on the autistic spectrum, receives care and support from Cornerstone’s Fairfield housing support and care at home teams in Dundee. They help to promote his independence, enabling him to maintain his own tenancy, manage his own meals and most important of all, travel to his beloved football training! He enjoys outings to the shops in the company of his support team and they will also often travel with him, and some of his friends from Fairfield, to support Lee’s football tournaments and cheer him on from the sidelines!

You can help us to make more Christmas wishes come true for the people we support in your local area by giving to our Christmas Wish Appeal.

Lee’s support practitioner Janine explains:

“Christmas is such a magical time for the people we support. Lee loves nothing more than being Santa! He gathers up everyone’s presents in his Santa sack and hand-delivers them personally, knocking on the doors of all his Fairfield neighbours to give them all a little Santa surprise! The people we support across the country love Christmas and doing all things Christmassy. They just need a little bit of extra support along the way. Making Christmas count for the people we care for is what our care teams do. It’s what they love. However, this vital, person-centred care costs money. That’s why, at Christmas time, we need your help more than ever!”.

You can help Lee and many other people we support this Christmas. A one-off donation or small gift of £3 per month would make a huge difference and help us continue to help the people we support live their best possible life! It’s quick and easy to give.

Please donate now and make this Christmas count. Thank you for caring with Cornerstone!

Wishing you a very happy Christmas!
