Cornerstone’s Sunnybank service benefitted from a donation of nearly £5,000 from CNOOC International which was used to provide a sensory space for the 4 people that live there.

Sensory equipment can create a calm and soothing environment using lights, colours, sounds and textures which can help people with learning disabilities relax and engage in the world around them.

This atmosphere can promote a sense of discovery and relaxation. The equipment was purchased with the needs of the people we support in mind and they are currently getting to grips with what this new space in their home can offer.

Sunnybank Service Manager, Michelle Robertson said,

“This equipment will make such a difference to the people we support here at Sunnybank. It’s something we’ve always wanted for the service and we’re so thankful to be able to provide a place for people to relax and spend time together. Thank you.”
