Beautiful Scotland supports groups across the country as they seek to improve and enhance their local environment.

Scott, who is supported by North Lanarkshire Supported Living, is a member of “Cumbernauld’s Blooming Wild Nature Ninjas”, a group whose goal is to upkeep and protect the beautiful Cumbernauld environment.

The Ninjas have helped remove invasive species, mow meadows, plant trees and mulch mats, pick up litter and make their environment shine.

This year, Scott and the Nature Ninjas were recognised for their efforts when they entered the Beautiful Scotland award. The award is judged according to the three pillars of horticultural achievement, environmental responsibility and community participation. Excitingly, Cumbernauld’s Blooming Wild and Nature Ninjas won both the Small City Silver Gilt Medal and the Best Beautiful Scotland Small City in 2022. They received their medals and were awarded the quaich during an award ceremony in February.

Well done Scott and the Nature Ninjas!
