Mary's Legacy Gift

At the end of 2020, Cornerstone received a truly incredible legacy gift of over £240,000 to support our work from Alexanderina, the mother of the late Mary Williamson, who was supported at Stevenson Court, in Aberdeen.

About Mary

Mary had Down’s Syndrome and was supported by Cornerstone for over 23 years. Mary was very much loved by everyone at Stevenson Court, who have all taken to sharing some fond memories of her recently. ‘Mary Doll’ - as our Service Manager, Malkie liked to call her - will be remembered fondly for her dressing up, and her love of parties and holidays.

He recalled how much Mary enjoyed a trip to Lovat Lodge in Nairn on Burns Night, watching the haggis being brought in and dancing the night away with her friends and Support Workers.

The Mary Williamson Awards

To honour Mary’s memory, and the wonderful gift that her family gave to Cornerstone we have decided to create an annual Personal Achievement Award for the people we support, in Mary’s name; The Mary Williamson Personal Achievement Award. These awards are presented each year at our Star Awards.
