Organised by dedicated Cornerstone colleagues, including Lyndsay Jackson, Shona Elvin and Gail McNaught, the event was a huge success with over 100 attendees and £1,004 raised for vital services in Cornerstone. Based in North Ayrshire, service manager, Lindsay Jackson said,

“We wanted to do something really special for the people we support as well as engage with the local community. The money we have raised will be accessible to everyone we support in Ayrshire and will be used to purchase the equipment, items and services needed to fulfil the personal goals of the people we support. We would like to thank everyone for their support due to the success of this year’s event, we plan to hold an even bigger and better ball next year.”

Several Cornerstone colleagues from all over Scotland travelled to attend the summer event in Irvine. Cornerstone Central Leader, Mairi Martin, was amongst one of the attendees, bringing friends and family along with her. She said, “This was the first time the Ayrshire branch of Cornerstone has held a Summer Ball and colleagues organising the event made it a night to remember! We enjoyed music by Ebb and Flow, had amazing raffle prizes from local companies supporting Cornerstone and danced the night away.”

Mairi adds, “To share a night with the people we support, colleagues, board members, friends, family and the local community was amazing. I can’t wait until next years!” If you would like to find out more about future events, keep an eye out on Cornerstone's Ayrshire branch Facebook.
